I have not heard anyone wanting the firewall mounted fuse blocks, and was wondering if glove box location was something they were wanting as well. If this is the case, the harness I am doing may work for the early models as well. Do these have the same holes in the fire wall as the later models? The instruction manual we currently send out says the firewall mounted fuse block models had a hole on the passenger side. I've got a question for you '66-early '71 guys. While you will still have to probably lie on your back on the passenger side and look up to see them, it will all still be very easy to access. The 2 flashers (turn and hazard), the horn relay, and the 3 circuit block will all be located behind the dash, under the glove box. The 20 circuit block will actually mount into the glove box like factory. Yes, everything has been relocated to the glove box area. A full explanation on these fuse blocks will come latter and be included in the instructions. We are not really counting the panel lighing fuse as its own circuit because it is there only because the 20 circuit fuse block is not able to support the panel lighting the way it is done in these Broncos. I'm thinking a cb or something along those lines for you trail guys. This accessory block will contain fuses for the panel lighting, switched radio power, and another fuse for what ever else you want to provide switched power for. So not only will the harness come with weatherproof 20 circuit fuse block, it will also have a 3 circuit Accessory block. I changed everything over to mini fuse by creating an auxillary weatherproof fuse block. One of the complaints we had was that we used micro fuses and regular ATC fuse in our current kit.

Descriptions on how to hook something up using our harness may make it into the instruction manual (Like headlight relays, cooling fans, fuel injection, etc.) While your ideas may not be actually covered in the harness. So if anyone has an ideas I may be over looking or other common add ons, let me non asap. but wire assignment, connector and terminal info is just about complete. Of course there is drawing and other paper work that I have to coplete. I doubt I'll be able to include it in the harness. Although I'm not sure when I'll actually have to get to it.

If you go the the Painless website and look up the manuals for 10111, and/or 20122 you can see the detail my manuals go into.Īlso, I'll look into a headlight relay. I will give very detailed instructions on how to do this.

They will have to remove the insulated terminals I am going to install on the harness, crimp on the new terminal, and pin out the factopry connector. The kit will come with the factory terminals allowing the customer to reuse their original connector if they desire.

I do however have the factory terminals for the mojority of them. Headight switch, wiper switch, turn signal switch and ignition switch connectors for all early Fords, for the most part, are no longer made. This ballast resistor replaces the resistance wire (thick pinkish-tan wire) used by the factory.Īs far as the concerns on making it factory correct: it will be as close as possible.

It all just depends on what ever coil is installed on the vehicle. The resistor is used on coils that are not internally resisted.
